We now offer a nature walk at &BEYOND Lake Manyara Tree Lodge affording guests with the incredible opportunity to discover all that Lake Manyara has to offer. Guests set off from the lodge, exploring the hidden game trails that meander through the woodland and riverine forest in search of some special and often overlooked species that call the National Park home. The morning sunlight filtering through the trees, plethora of butterfly and dragonfly species, Manyara Syke’s monkeys and colourful birds can all be discovered on this walk, creating an immersive experience unlike any other in northern Tanzania.

&BEYOND Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp Classic Tent Upgrade
Committed to providing your guests with an extraordinary Masai Mara experience, &BEYOND Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp will undergo a partial rebuild from 16 January to 30 April 2025. During this period, the camp’s 12 existing Classic Tents will be redesigned into six brand-new Superior Tents. While the renovations are underway, the camp will remain open and operating as per usual.

New Ethiopian Airlines flight linking East Africa to Southern Africa
Ethiopian Airlines has added a new flight linking East Africa (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) to Southern Africa (Maun, Botswana). The airline has commenced three times weekly services to Maun, its second destination in Botswana. Gaborone was the first.
Namibia
Private vehicle available from July 2024 at &BEYOND Sossusvlei Desert Lodge
Guests now have the luxury of tailoring their own desert experience at &BEYOND Sossusvlei Desert Lodge with a private vehicle, allowing them to choose their own drive times and spend as much time as they want exploring the desert.

New FlyNamibia route to Maun
Namibia’s private airline FlyNamibia has launched the addition of Maun, Botswana to its flight network from July 2024. With this new route, FlyNamibia furthers its connectivity across southern Africa, benefiting local and international travellers exploring Namibia’s landscapes and the region. Please note this is a seasonal flight and will only operate now, in the winter peak season from July to October 2024. No flight routes or rates for 2025 have been confirmed as yet.

The &BEYOND Benguerra Island catamaran suffered some damage after the recent Mozambique cyclone and will be out of commission until further notice. This will affect our half and full-day Stiletto trips.

Airlink’s ‘Bush & Beach’ flight has resumed
Back by popular demand, Airlink has reinstated its peak season ‘Bush & Beach’ flight service linking Mbobela’s (formerly Nelspruit) Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, South Africa with Vilanculos, Mozambique and Johannesburg, South Africa. The direct flight service, which provides guests with the ability to combine a safari and a beach holiday, will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday until 05 January 2025.
South Africa
This 9-day marine and bush bucket list adventure combines the swirling sardine bait balls and agile apex predators of South Africa’s famed annual Sardine Run with an unforgettable wildlife safari at one of the country’s premier private game reserves in search of Africa’s iconic Big Five.
Spend time at a Shangaan community, situated just outside Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, interacting with the friendly people of Mpumalanga. A Bantu tribal group, the Shangaan are the dominant group in the northeast of South Africa. A local guide will escort you though the village, sharing interesting insights and narratives about Shangaan culture, including its fascinating customs, beliefs and traditions.
&BEYOND Phinda road transfer update
We’ve updated our road transfer rates for groups of 10 or more guests for all transfers to and from &BEYOND Phinda Private Game Reserve. For groups of nine (9) and under, guests will be transferred in a single Toyota Quantum. However, for larger groups of 10 or more (up to 13 guests), a second transfer vehicle will be needed. We have updated our rate sheets to reflect this increase for the additional vehicle.

New Cape Town ground handing tours
Elgin wine tasting and market tour: After breakfast at the hotel, guests will embark on a scenic drive through Sir Lowry’s Pass, culminating in a wine tasting at Creation Wines. Continuing to the Elgin Railway Market (open on Saturday and Sunday only), a bustling steampunk-meets-Art Deco space housed within a converted apple warehouse, they will explore the market’s bounty: fragrant curries, exotic dim sum, homemade sweets, and a wide selection of beverages, from beer and spirits to local wine and freshly home ground coffee. Here they can also browse unique retail offerings including exquisite jewellery, handcrafted leather goods, and clothing for all ages.
Sea kayaking and Table Mountain adventure: On this new experience guests can enjoy a sea kayaking adventure from Granger Bay in Cape Town plus a Table Mountain excursion. The first half of this tour (roughly round 90-minutes), includes approximately 60 minutes of paddling along the stunning Atlantic seaboard, with the dramatic backdrop of Signal Hill and Lion’s Head, offering opportunities to spot marine life like dolphins, seals, sunfish, penguins, and even whales (if lucky). For the second half of the tour, guests will head to Table Mountain to take the revolving cable car to the top of the iconic peak. Marvelling at spectacular views over the city and the entire Cape Peninsula, guests can spend time strolling along its flat top soaking it all in. If the weather isn’t ideal, guests will explore the smaller peak of Signal Hill. Please note this tour may begin or end with sea kayaking due to set departure times in the morning and afternoon. The kayaking experience is weather dependent for safety reasons; it will not operate in dangerous or bad weather conditions. Minimum age is eight years old, and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.
