A world of breathtaking landscapes, iconic wildlife, vibrant cultures and award-winning accommodation awaits. Post a challenging 2020, it’s time for your guests dreams, plans and much needed escape to come to fruition. The below is a brief summary of COVID-19 requirements in our destinations of operation in South America.
Guests could be subject to a Coronavirus (COVID-19) test upon arrival. Guests who enter the country must carry out a 10-day quarantine (regardless of their nationality, if they are Chilean or resident). They will be released from quarantine with a negative PCR result, which can be taken from the seventh day of quarantine onwards. In addition, they must present a negative PCR test, carried out up to 72 hours before boarding the last flight to Chile. Guests must carry travel insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 30,000 to cover all expenses originated by Coronavirus (COVID-19). Flights from the United Kingdom to Chile are suspended.
Upon arrival at airports in Ecuador, there will be random, rapid antigen tests on guests over 14 years of age. In the case of a positive antigen test, guests will be required to isolate for 10 days at their own expense in government-approved accommodation. Guests arriving from the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and countries of the European Union (EU) must present a negative COVID-19 result, made within 10 days prior to the trip at the time of their arrival at Quito and Guayaquil airports. In addition, compliance with Mandatory Preventive Isolation (MPI) will be required in previously agreed hotels for five days in Ecuador. The flight capacity for international flights is back to normal.
Guests must have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) RT-PCR test result issued at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point; or an antigen test result; or an epidemiological medical discharge certificate. This does not apply to guests younger than 12 years. All guests who arrive in the country are quarantined for 14 days and the date of isolation will be counted from the day of their arrival in the country. The test must be uploaded at http://e-notificacion.migraciones.gob.pe/dj-salud/. Guests must complete an “Affidavit of Health and Geolocation Authorization” at http://e-notificacion.migraciones.gob.pe/dj-salud/ 72 hours before departure. The authorised capacity of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, located in Cusco, is able to receive a maximum of 1,116 visitors per day, a figure that represents 50% of its capacity.
Guests must sign a digital affidavit to enter the country and have health insurance to cover any COVID-19 expenses. This does not apply to nationals and residents of Argentina. Guests must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point, not applicable to guests younger than six years old. All guests will be subject to seven to 10 quarantine days. Nationals and residents of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay are no longer allowed to enter.
