1. Go with the flow
Kayak, raft or cast a line into rivers that run clear and cold from the Andes.
Set off on a floating raft as you glide along the clear waters of the Liucura River or for a change of scenery, test your skills on a kayak or enjoy a stand-up paddle boarding experience on Lake Tinquilco. For the more adventurous, brave the mighty rapids and go white-water rafting on the Trancura River or try your hand at catch-and-release fishing in the attempt to catch a rainbow trout, brown trout, or chinook salmon. Take in the spectacular natural surrounds of volcanoes, kaleidoscopic birdlife and lush forests.
2. Step into Patagonia’s quieter wild
This is not a race to the summit, but a walk into landscapes alive with movement, silence and scale.
The region surrounding the lodge offers a vast selection of hiking/trekking excursions. In the company of one of our experienced guides, explore national parks that showcase beautiful forests, shimmering bodies of water, waterfalls, hot springs and the breathtaking terrain of majestic volcanoes draped with snow-capped peaks. Discover the beauty while trekking in Villarrica National Park on various trails near the border of Argentina and Chile or explore eco diversity while trekking in Huerquehue National Park. In the winter, between June and September, embark on a snowshoeing expedition through puffy snow on many of these same trails.
Ascending the Villarrica Volcano will attract an additional cost.

Meals are crafted from the estate’s own gardens and dairy, shaped by season and served with intention. What’s grown here doesn’t travel far—but it goes deep.
Celebrate the best of farm-to-table cuisine at &Beyond Vira Vira with their onsite organic vegetable garden. Freshly grown produce is sourced from the garden and used to create award-winning Chilean-inspired menus. A state-of-the-art cheese factory, also on-site, produces delicious cheese for the exclusive delight of our guests. Given the large estate there are several private dining options, be it on your terrace, in the greenhouse or under a shady tree.
All meals are included in your rate.
4. Voices rooted in place
Spend time with the Mapuche people whose language, craft and customs continue to shape this living landscape.
Located in the homeland of the courageous Mapuche people who bravely resisted the advances of Inca and Spanish invaders, the heritage of the region is still alive. Immerse yourself in a cultural journey with a fascinating visit to Dona Rosario’s Ruka (house) in the local Mapuche community. Watch her roasting organic wheat and enjoy her delicious home cooked fare. Get active and enjoy a game of Palin – a traditional Mapuche stick and ball game, that originated in southern Chile. From here, meet Sandra Rojos, visit her colourful factory and watch her working the loom.
5. Breathe in, slow down
From riverside yoga to wood-fired hot tubs beneath open skies, this is wellness grounded in landscape, not luxury.
Balance your chakras and enjoy yoga sessions that harmonise body,
mind and spirit or awaken your senses and reconnect with others, your natural surrounds, and yourself during the ancient Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku (Forest Therapy). Pamper yourself with a soul-soothing wellness treatment in the beautifully decorated massage room overlooking the crystal clear Liucura River and be soothed by the gentle murmur of the flowing water. This is the perfect environment in which to unwind and drop into a state of deep relaxation. Find your inner peace and enjoy the silence, nature and serenity the area has to offer.

Lift off over volcanoes, lakes and forested valleys. In the air, scale takes on new meaning—and silence lands a little deeper.
Soar over a spectacular landscape of lakes, forest and mountains and look down into the lava crater of the Villarrica Volcano on a scenic helicopter flight. Enjoy a variety of extraordinary adventures and find solitude heli-fishing in rippling streams, race down rugged terrain when you go heli-biking, zip between trees when heli-skiing, immerse yourself in bubbling thermal springs on an adventure flight or simply appreciate the beauty of the surrounds on a romantic sunset flip.

7. Let the land set the pace
Saddle up and follow quiet trails through forest and field. Ride alongside rivers and under snow-capped peaks, guided by local horsemen who know the land by heart.
Meet an authentic Chilean huaso (cowboy) with magnificent horses boasting impressive breeds. You will be guided on a scenic horseback riding tour through open prairies and forests. Those who wish to rather explore on two wheels, can appreciate the lush native forests and volcanic slopes of the region while mountain biking. For those that love the snow, the option of riding during a snowmobiling experience, can circle the volcano finding a virgin track on every run – a once in a lifetime experience.
Snowmobiling is only available during winter and is available an additional cost.
