Embark on an exciting fishing excursion that includes soaring over the beauty of Northern Patagonia in a helicopter, and fishing in solitude in pristine waters.
Get off to an early start after a delicious breakfast to take full advantage of the lush scenery, spectacular weather and impressive fishing opportunities where rainbow and brown trout, as well as brookies thrive. Depart from &Beyond Vira Vira at 09h00 and fly towards the Villarica Volcano. Soar over the Pichillancahue Glacier, and admire your surrounds from above as you pass mountains including the Mocho-Choshuenco, meaning headless yellow waters, a glacier-covered stratovolcano consisting of twin volcanoes. Glance to your left as you pass the towering Andes Mountain range reaching to the heavens, and creating silhouettes in the shimmering glacial lakes beneath you.
Your one-hour scenic flight takes you to the privately-owned Huishue Park, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Rippling over the landscape the Huishue Lake brims with trout as the morning sun sends golden glimmers across the water. You will be met by your guide who knows these waters inside and out, hop into a motorboat and find the perfect spot for fishing. Once you have found your place of silence with just coursing waters and bird song your natural soundtrack, your guide will display various flies that can be used to attempt your perfect catch.
Enjoy a great fishing session, and then relish a delicious lunch on the banks of the lake taking in the dramatic surrounds. Choose to carry on fishing in the Huishue Lake or move over to Twin Lake (Laguna Gemela). This is an exciting opportunity to fish offshore with waders provided by the lodge.
