Discover the spectacular wilderness of Yala National Park, the core system of nine connected protected areas, and home to much of Sri Lanka’s magnificent wildlife. With Block 1 dating back to 1900, this wildlife sanctuary has grown over the years. Nestled in the south-east corner of Sri Lanka, the park is home to a high concentration of leopard. Yala also shelters an abundance of Asian elephant, wild buffalo, sloth bear, jackal, sambar deer, and magnificent bird species. An aerial view of Yala features infinite hues of green, made up of a gently undulating carpet of jungle and open plains, dotted with sparkling waterholes and lakes. Concealed within the park is evidence of ancient kingdoms, where crumbling relics remain hidden in the forest.
Preserving the beauty of the wild, Kulu Safari Tented Camp offers spacious accommodation with touches of comfortable luxury. Campsites are situated in remote areas, with no one else around for miles so you have all the pristine beauty of the Yala National Park to yourself. Raised on wooden platforms, the tents offer ensuite bathrooms with hot and cold showers. Recline on your small private deck and sipping on sundowners, or relax in the profound tranquillity with a good book.
Spend time with the camp’s guides who are professionally trained naturalists, and discover the magnificence of the wild on a jungle walk, and game drives, discovering the intricate harmony of the region’s diverse fauna and flora. Make a splash on adventurous kayak excursions, and explore sites of historic and cultural significance in the vicinity of the camp.
