Adventure awaits: From tiny streams to magnificent waterfalls and the remotest of villages, the two hour trek to the Nanu Oya Station has much to offer. On your journey, you will catch breath-taking vistas of the Agarapathana Mountain Range, Maskeliya and Adam’s Peak. Look to cover the 15km (9.3mi.) distance between Ambewela and the Nanu Oya Railway Station and take in the sight of the 25m (82ft) Elgin Falls along the way. You can also venture along the Horton Plains boundary where misty mountains and the calls of the wild echo through. The Shanthipura Village which is the highest elevated settlement in all of Sri Lanka provides unobstructed views of the entirety of Nuwara Eliya. Escape to the chilly Kikiliyamana Mountain Range where the village can be easily located – a wonderful experience.
