For fanatics and fledgling birders alike
This virtual experience is no flight of fancy
In fact, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet with some of the world’s foremost birding specialists. You can choose to speak to Daryl Dell, a FGASA (Field Guide Association of Southern Africa) Level 3 Birding Guide, or chat to Surya Ramachandran, Swarovski Optik Field Guide, based in Asia, to discuss your birding life lists and what equipment will raise your game on your next birding adventure.
These masterclasses are perfect for amateur and experienced birders alike. Each class will showcase the fantastic birds of either South Africa or India, take you through the habitats of each region, offer expert birding advice, what equipment to use and how to use it.

Daryl Dell
Growing up on a horse, cattle and sheep farm in South Africa’s Great Karoo, Daryl was always fated to become a naturalist. From a young age, he would spend entire days walking in the bush, fascinated by animal tracks, skulls, feathers and dung.
Passionate about all aspects of nature he has recorded more than 2 000 bird species, including rare sightings like the Madagascar cuckoo and collared flycatcher. A keen photographer, he enjoys swapping tips with guests and capturing extraordinary sightings.
Surya Ramachandran
Surya is a passionate naturalist who pioneered the first walking safaris, canoeing expeditions, wilderness camping and night drives at Satpura in Central India. His love for wildlife has inspired a lifetime of exploring India’s jungles to observe rare mammals, birds, reptiles and butterflies.
Surya is a certified expedition leader for the WWF international team and an ambassador for Swarovski Optik for India. Currently working on creating specialised wildlife adventures, his contagious enthusiasm for the wilderness brings it to life.
