It's not goodbye, but see you later
The world is opening up and our wonderful guests are starting to travel again. While this is welcome news for the wild places that we support and the animals and people that call them home, it means that we need to do a little readjusting to make sure that we can fully focus on both our real-life guests and our virtual ones.
In order to do this, we will have to put our &Beyond Connect Virtual Experiences and daily WILDwatch Live safaris temporarily on hold as we find the right balance to ensure our guides, chefs and wellness practitioners can meet the expectation of all our online and offline guests.
We absolutely love bringing &Beyond into your homes, offices and schools, and promise we will do our best to ensure that this is not a final goodbye, but simply a ‘see you later’.
For fanatics and fledgling birders alike
This virtual experience is no flight of fancy
In fact, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet with some of the world’s foremost birding specialists. You can choose to speak to Daryl Dell, a FGASA (Field Guide Association of Southern Africa) Level 3 Birding Guide, or chat to Surya Ramachandran, Swarovski Optik Field Guide, based in Asia, to discuss your birding life lists and what equipment will raise your game on your next birding adventure.
These masterclasses are perfect for amateur and experienced birders alike. Each class will showcase the fantastic birds of either South Africa or India, take you through the habitats of each region, offer expert birding advice, what equipment to use and how to use it.
The 1 hr 30 min virtual experience entitles you to six (6) links, which you can share with friends, family members or co-workers (with a maximum 2 people per link) and is conducted in English.

Meet your birders
Growing up on a horse, cattle and sheep farm in South Africa’s Great Karoo, Daryl was always fated to become a naturalist. From a young age, he would spend entire days walking in the bush, fascinated by animal tracks, skulls, feathers and dung.
Passionate about all aspects of nature he has recorded more than 2 000 bird species, including rare sightings like the Madagascar cuckoo and collared flycatcher. A keen photographer, he enjoys swapping tips with guests and capturing extraordinary sightings.
Surya is a passionate naturalist who pioneered the first walking safaris, canoeing expeditions, wilderness camping and night drives at Satpura in Central India. His love for wildlife has inspired a lifetime of exploring India’s jungles to observe rare mammals, birds, reptiles and butterflies.
Surya is a certified expedition leader for the WWF international team and an ambassador for Swarovski Optik for India. Currently working on creating specialised wildlife adventures, his contagious enthusiasm for the wilderness brings it to life.
