This vast desert country of rolling dunes and swirling mists stirs the spirit and moves the heart. Namibia is so large and sparsely populated that it is possible to discover enormous open spaces without roads, towns, trees or even stones, just the lonely desert wind passing through one of the most enchanting corners of the earth.
Your journey starts in the remote Hartmann Valley, overlooking the bubbling rapids of the Kunene River and yet surrounded by the lunar-like landscapes of the Namib Desert. Retreat to Namibia’s extraordinary desert and discover an astonishing landscape in one of earth’s most secluded safari destinations.
Your next destination is Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s great parks in both size and diversity of wildlife. It consists mostly of grassy plains around a huge salt pan, which becomes a beautiful lake after heavy rains and attracts large flocks of pink candy-floss-coloured flamingo. Etosha holds one of the largest, and perhaps the most stable, population of black rhino in the world, as well as giraffe, and rare and unusual species like the black-faced impala, Hartmann’s mountain zebra or the smallest antelope in the world, the Damara dikdik.
Your journey ends in the Namib-Naukluft Park, a must-see when on safari in Namibia, with its magnificent sea of rolling red dunes at Sossusvlei. One of the oldest, driest and most pristine areas on Earth, the Namib Desert is a world of vast spaces, endless horizons, dramatic desertscapes and jagged mountain heights. The spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei, arrayed in magnificent hues of orange, buttermilk, pumpkin and sienna, tower over a vast, dry pan. Over 230 m (750 ft) high and constantly twisted and shaped by the wind, these breathtaking dunes are among the highest in the world.

Day 1: Arrival
Windhoek, Namibia
Hotel Heinitzburg
- Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will be met by an &Beyond representative and driven to Hotel Heinitzburg (an approximate 45-minute drive).
- Recognised as one of the cleanest capital cities in Africa, Windhoek boasts a seamless blend of African and European culture, friendly people, and a fascinating history. Spend the first night of your journey at the Hotel Heinitzburg
Day 2 & 3:
Hartmann Valley, Namibia
Wilderness Serra Cafema
- After breakfast, you will be met at Hotel Heinitzburg by an &Beyond representative and be driven by private vehicle to Windhoek Eros Airport for your scheduled charter flight to Doro Nawas Airstrip.
- Discover and explore during your two-night stay at Serra Cafema Camp . Adventures from the lodge include informative nature drives and carefully guided quad bike excursions through the sand dunes, as well as boating on the Kunene River, walks through the remote mountains and river valleys, and visits to a Himba settlement.
Day 4 & 5:
Ongava Private Game Reserve, Namibia
Ongava Lodge
- After breakfast, you will be driven to Doro Nawas Airstrip in time for your scheduled charter flight where you will connect to Ongava Airstrip
- Delight in your 2-night stay at Ongava Lodge .
- Set off on game drives that explore the Ongava Game Reserve which is a 27,518 hectare (68,000 acre) private game reserve situated along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park, keeping an eye out for lion, elephant, gemsbok, springbok, red hartebeest and both white and black rhino.
- Other adventures include evening game drives, with the opportunity to view the shy and elusive nocturnal species, and nature walks with a professional guide
Day 6 to 8:
&Beyond Sossusvlei Private Reserve, Namibia
&Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge
- After breakfast, you will be driven to Ongava Airstrip in time for your scheduled charter flight where you will connect to Hosea Kutako International Airport.
- Upon arrival, you will be met by a local representative for your scheduled light aircraft to Geluk Airstrip.
- Upon arrival, you will be met by your &Beyond guide and will be driven, with fellow guests, to &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge .
- Reconnect with yourself and with nature during your three-night stay at &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge.
- Explore the lodge surrounds on foot and walk in the footsteps of desert-adapted wildlife. Take the time to sit in the stillness under a unique quiver tree and be enchanted by the views from atop the mountains.
- Be enchanted by a star feast each and every night complete with an on-site astronomer*
sophisticated on-site observatory, state-of-the-art telescope and a large stargazing skylight above your bed. - Walk across ancient sands and climb the heights of ‘Big Dune’.
- Take off on a scenic helicopter flight and from your birds-eye perspective, be captivated by rolling sand dunes, craggy mountain tops, solidified rock formations and enchanting fairy circles.
- Traverse the stark beauty on an e-bike. Easy to ride and super fun, these nifty bicycles are fitted with a battery-powered ‘assist’ that gives a boost via a throttle when pedalling.
- Be mesmerised on morning or late afternoon desert drives that continue after nightfall.
- Step back in time and bring to life the history of the area and its people. Strap on your walking shoes and roam back to the ancient San Bushmen era.
- Explore the unique landscape on this fascinating geological excursion, in a vehicle and on foot.

Day 9: Departure
&Beyond Sossusvlei Private Reserve, Namibia
- Wave a fond farewell as you are driven to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Windhoek International Airport (an approximate 1-hour and 15 minutes flight) in time for your onward arrangements.
