Your journey begins with an overnight stay in vibrant Johannesburg. This evening you will spend the night at the Intercontinental OR Tambo International Airport Hotel. The next morning, you will be transferred to the iconic &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve. During your stay at &Beyond Phinda Vlei Lodge, you can explore the reserve’s ‘Seven Worlds of Wonder’ on twice-daily game drives, birdwatching excursions, and guided walking safaris.
Before being whisked away to the dazzling beaches of Mauritius, you will enjoy another overnight stay in Johannesburg. This time, you’ll stay at the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa. A melting pot of cultures, historic attractions, and exclusive eateries, Johannesburg boasts an eclectic mix of energy, evolution, and experiences. For the last leg of your adventure, you will fly to Mauritius, where your stay at The Oberoi Resort promises an array of opportunities to simply unwind. Enjoy a tranquil pampering session at the first-class spa, spend lazy days soaking up the warm African sunshine on a pristine beach or grab a snorkel and explore the crystal waters – the choice is yours.

A taste of what to expect…
Day 1: Arrival
South Africa: Johannesburg | Intercontinental OR Tambo International Airport Hotel
- Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, you will be met by a Menzies Aviation representative and assisted through customs and immigration. You will then be guided across the road to the Intercontinental OR Tambo International Airport Hotel.
- Conveniently situated within walking distance of the airport’s terminals, the Intercontinental OR Tambo International Airport Hotel offers an elegantly comfortable setting for guests to unwind en route to other destinations within the country.
- Spending only one night here before heading onto your Big Five safari adventure, you can relax at the health spa with a range of treatments or use the fully equipped gym to ease your ‘flight-weary’ limbs. Alternatively, you can head to the hotel’s indoor swimming pool to cool off.
- Complete your stay with dinner at the hotel’s signature restaurant, Quills, aptly named after the unique 18 m (60 ft) long porcupine quill mobile that spans its entire length.
- You can also stay up to date on your flight details via the special in-room information system.
Day 2 – 5:
South Africa: &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve | &Beyond Phinda Vlei Lodge
- After breakfast, you will be met at the Intercontinental OR Tambo International Airport Hotel by a representative from Menzies Aviation, who will assist you across the road to OR Tambo International Airport and help with check-in procedures for your departure to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Upon landing, you will connect onto your Federal Air flight to Phinda Airstrip.
- Soak up the experience during your 4-night stay at &Beyond Phinda Vlei Lodge.
- Fringing the reserve’s wildlife-rich wetland system, along the edge of a rare sand forest, the vibrant and intimate Phinda Vlei Lodge offers a tranquil oasis in the middle of flourishing wilderness.
- Spend your days traversing the bush, on-foot or in a game vehicle, with expert guides, unwind in the private lap pool or relax on the game viewing deck that overlooks a grassy meadow, where you can observe antelope grazing nearby, as well as a variety of birdlife. Don’t forget to also visit the lodge’s Safari Shop with its unique and colourful local Zulu artifacts.
- During your stay, choose from a range of exciting Phinda Adventures* such as specialist walking and tracking safaris, a sleepout under the stars, and other participative conservation experiences such rhino notching or pangolin tagging.
- Also within easy access of the reserve are Zulu village tours, Africa Foundation community visits, a Maputaland exploration, Maputaland beach trip, night turtle drives (seasonal), scuba safaris, or an incredible ocean safari that offers you a host of marine life sightings.

Day 6:
South Africa: Johannesburg | Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa
- After your morning game drive and breakfast, you will be driven to Phinda Airstrip for your departure to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Upon landing, you will connect with your Airlink flight to OR Tambo International Airport.
- Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, you will be met by a Menzies Aviation representative and assisted into the arrivals hall, where you will be met by a member from our &Beyond team who will drive you to Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa.
- Situated in Morningside, Sandton, Fairlawns Luxury Hotel’s extensive gardens and prolific birdlife have captured the spirit of grace and elegance of a bygone era.
- Here for only one night, enjoy a couple of laps in the hotel’s heated swimming pool or unwind in the alfresco dining room and lounge area offering the perfect setting to enjoy the sunset and fine Johannesburg climate.
Day 7 – 10:
Mauritius: Balaclava | The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius
- It’s time for the beach! After a scrumptious hotel breakfast, you will be collected from Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa for your departure to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, Mauritius. Upon landing, you will be transferred to The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius.
- The Oberoi Beach Resort is 15 minutes from Mauritius’ bustling capital of Port Louis. The spectacular Oberoi is ideally positioned, offering you 600 m (1,968 ft) of pristine beachfront on the shore of Turtle Bay.
- Here, amidst sprawling tropical gardens and calming seas, you’ll spend the next 4 nights in one of the hotel’s Luxury Pavilion rooms.
- The epitome of island-luxury, your room is beautifully furnished with rustic oak and natural cane furniture, wall-to-wall glass windows offering either mesmerizing ocean views or serene garden vistas, plus a marble ensuite bathroom.
- Fill your days with activities like glass-bottom boat rides, glass-bottom double kayaks, and quattro pedalos.
- Try your hand at snorkelling, sea propellers, stand-up paddle boats, hobie cat and laser sailing, sea kayaking, snorkelling, wakeboarding, water-skiing, and windsurfing.
- While there, be sure to also spend some time relaxing at the first-class spa, working out at the fitness centre, taking a dip in one of the two hotel’s swimming pools, or even playing a few sets on the hotel’s tennis court.
Day 11:
Departure | Mauritius
- Today, wave a fond farewell to Mauritius, as you are collected for your flight home or on to your next travel arrangement.
