Set on the western boundary of the Greater Kruger National Park, Malewane Lodge overlooks a waterhole frequented by an ever-changing cast of wildlife. The original flagship of Royal Malewane and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, it first opened in 1999 and has been reimagined to preserve its classic safari character while introducing greater comfort, privacy and space.
The lodge accommodates a maximum of 20 guests across six one-bedroom Luxury Suites and two two-bedroom Royal Suites. Luxury Suites feature a fireplace, generous ensuite bathroom, thatched sala and deck with a heated rim-flow plunge pool. The Royal Suites offer two ensuite bedrooms, central living and dining areas, outdoor showers and a heated plunge pool, together with a dedicated host and private chef, private safari vehicle, field guide and tracker. Meals are tailored to individual tastes and served overlooking the waterhole, beside the fire or beneath the stars. Between adventures, guests can gather in the bar, observation lounge or dedicated coffee and fresh juice bar.
Twice-daily game drives and guided bush walks are led by Royal Malewane’s highly qualified guiding team, with photographic safaris, conservation-focused experiences and visits to the Conservation and Research Centre also available. The Royal Waters Spa offers treatment rooms, private casitas, a steam room, sauna, cold plunge, heated lap pool and fitness centre.
