Understand the culture, customs and history of tea creation and taste an extensive variety of designer tea combinations. This fascinating experience is run by Kenneth Congreve, a tea expert who was born in Badulla, in Sri Lanka’s tea country. Hailing from a long line of tea planters, he began his career as a junior tea taster in 1980. This one-hour experience takes you through the basics of tea tasting, which includes how to use your nose to detect the delicate aroma from each infusion, as well as identifying how the colour of the brew can affect the final cup.
Kenneth identifies the differences between long-grown and high-grown tea and allows you to try and identify the differences yourself. At the end you will get to enjoy a variety of teas and go home with your own pack. A unique and memorable experience, this excursion begins at 10h30 and takes place on Thursday and Fridays.
