In addition to all current entry requirements, on arrival into Botswana the latest information provided on COVID-19 protocols by the Botswana government is as follows:
Guests, including children from the age 5 & older will not be required to quarantine on arrival if they present a negative PCR test for COVID-19 no older than 72 hours. Guests who do not present a negative COVID-19 will need to self-isolate for 14 days.
In addition to all current entry requirements, on arrival into Namibia the latest information provided on COVID protocols by the Namibian government is as follows:
All nationalities are welcome, subject to visa requirements and Covid-19 protocols. Fully vaccinated guests (arriving as well as transiting) must produce a valid vaccination certificate at the Port of Entry. Unvaccinated guests (arriving as well as transiting – including unvaccinated children of five years and older) must produce a valid certificate of a negative COVID-19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test, recognised by the World Health Organisation, which was obtained not more than 72 hours before the date of travel. This must be issued by a recognised laboratory with its name indicated on the test results. An obligatory health questionnaire, which can be downloaded here, must be completed not more than 2 days ahead of departure to South Africa (also for those transit guests, who need to collect luggage before continuing on their journey). When leaving the country again, another questionnaire will need to be completed at this link.

All Natural Selection guests, staying three nights or more at any of the Natural Selection properties, will be put up at Telele (formally known as Royal Tree Lodge) in Maun, for the duration of the guests’ quarantine.
Set to open in June 2022, Kiri Camp is situated in a previously inaccessible area of the Okavango Delta. It features 10 tents, including eight Luxury Tents and two Family Luxury Tents.

The refreshed Sanctuary at Ol Lentille features new exterior and interior colours. Maintenance has been completed on the interior paths and access roads including brand new solar-powered hot water systems. Wi-Fi has been upgraded and will now be available throughout the whole lodge.

The Ocean Spa Lodge in Kenya, will sadly be closing indefinitely.
Governors’ Camp has come out with an inflationary increase on its 2022 rates. This increase will be applicable to new bookings.
The brand new Sanctuary Tambarare is set to open 01 June 2022. It is nestled amongst trees in Laikipia, looking out across the grassy plateau of Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The camp features 10 luxurious guest tents.
Mokuti Etosha Lodge will be undergoing a full upgrade, and will be closed as of 22 March 2022 for a period of 12 to 15 months.
The Immersive Explorations at Camp Sossus will now be open for all, as of April 2022, on a per tented room basis. The camp is operational all year-round with a minimum 2-night to 3-night stay recommended.
The Zulu Village Tour is again open for booking. Please note that the rate has increased for the activity – all confirmed bookings will be honoured at the old rate. The tour now includes a visit to the Mduku Bakery, where guests can experience the impact of Africa Foundation and its business development initiatives within the community. The vehicle entrance fee for the Timbavati has increased with immediate effect. The levy is going up from R424 to R460 per person per night; whilst the self-drive vehicle entrance fee is going up from R210 to R230.
Tanda Tula will be closing Safari Camp between March 2022 and March 2023 for renovations. In the meantime, they are opening a new camp called Plains Camp. Those with affected bookings have been notified.
Mala Mala has reverted back to ZAR rates and is no longer using USD.
The rebuild of Garden Lodge, which is set to welcome guests from April 2022, is centred around sustainability and has been designed to blend in with the environment. The lodge will feature a new dining area, lounge, wine maturation cellar, heated swimming pool, wellness area and a playroom for the kids. Booking reservations are already open.
The hotel is in the next phase of its refurbishment program, which incorporates the ground floor of the Marina Rise. All the rooms have been closed off in the Marina Rise and the building will not be accessible.
Renovations to the restaurant’s terrace, together with exterior painting of the building, is currently underway. Refurbishment activities will take place between 08h00 and 17h00 (weekdays only) and certain guest rooms allocated near to works in progress will be blocked off. Project completion is scheduled for mid-April 2022.
The new Milk Room opened during the festive season last year. This charming space sits adjacent to the existing Farm Shop. It offers guests uniquely crafted cheese, butter and other dairy indulgence.
As of immediate effect, Rovos Rail’s Pretoria – Cape Town and Cape Town to Pretoria journeys will be three nights long, instead of only two nights. Rates for the current season (until 30 September 2022) will stay unchanged.
All services have been suspended based on recent safety incidents that have taken place in the past three months. According to the Blue Train team the investigations are taking longer than anticipated. Guests and operators will be refunded their tickets at the value that the Blue Train received. No forecasted date to resume services has been communicated but the resumption may be earlier than initially expected.
We have introduced a scenic transfer between &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and Serengeti Under Canvas, when in the Ndutu Area. The transfer is on private basis and will be for a maximum of six guests and has been updated on the 2022 and 2023 &Beyond Tanzania transfer rate sheet.

Asilia Africa has introduced Usangu Expedition Camp (set to open 01 June 2022), in the Ruaha National Park of Tanzania. This camp has only four tents with two game drive vehicles. Guests can enjoy numerous activities including game drives and walking safaris as well as canoeing and swamp boating. Children 12 years and older are welcome.
Gibbs has introduced a two nights minimum stay. All existing bookings will be honoured. If your guest’s itinerary is to include a stay at Gibb’s Farm, both pre and post safari adventure, the minimum of two consecutive nights applies to only one of the stays.

In a joint venture with Central Air Transport Services (CATS) in Zimbabwe, Mack Air will be introducing a new Hwange circuit. In addition to this, is the new Mack Air Victoria Falls Passenger Lounge, which is almost complete and ties in nicely with the new circuit.
The Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel will be reopening 01 April 2022, following an extensive refurbishment project at the hotel. The property features 16 luxury suites, a private spa and gym.
