1. Barefoot luxury
Where sand replaces shoes, and simplicity feels indulgent.
A romantic, barefoot-island haven, luxuriously rustic palm-frond bandas are tucked into a tropical forest opening onto the shimmering ocean. A covered walkway leads to a shuttered ensuite bathroom with a glass-beaded shower curtain. Zanzibar is famous for its woodcarvings and the scrolled headboards adorning the beds are created by some of the Island’s most skilled artisans.
2. Below the surface
Slip into a world of coral cities, curious turtles, and quiet awe.
Diving around Zanzibar features shallow coral gardens, walls adorned with spiral corals, tropical fish species, perfect underwater visibility and some of the best dive sites in the world. Refresher courses and a beginner three-day Open Water course are offered. Boasting irresistible swimming directly from the beach, venture just 10 minutes away on a motorboat to find snorkelling spots with kaleidoscopic marine life.
Snorkelling and scuba diving (2 dives per day – full PADI certification required) are included in your private adventure rate. Scuba diving courses are at an additional cost.
3. Play on water
Paddle, glide, sail—however you move, the ocean moves with you.
&Beyond Mnemba Island features two dive centres – one on the north of the Island and one on the south, used in accordance with the weather patterns, stocked with equipment for private diving, snorkelling, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. The island has a PADI dive school and qualified dive instructors.
Snorkelling, scuba diving (2 dives per day), sea kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding are included in your private adventure rate.
4. Settle in, breathe out
Stillness isn’t the absence of movement. It’s the return to self.
Channel your energy, balance your chakras and increase your self-awareness against the backdrop of a pristine ocean with a private yoga class. 5. When the island holds its breath
Watch nesting turtles honour ancient rhythms, then hatchlings find their way home.
&Beyond Mnemba Island is an important green turtle breeding site and the conservation team work hard to protect and monitor turtle nests throughout the year. Track the footprints of female turtles at night and observe their nests during the year-round nesting season.
Hatchings can not be guaranteed and are therefore not available to pre-book.

Relax in the romance of dusk surrounded by a vast expanse of sky above and ocean blues as your dhow glides towards the sunset. Be captivated by the evening colours, from pink hues to burning orange, with slashes of deep indigo and azure descending into inky black.

- Mnemba Island will be closed annually between 08 April - 20 May
- Mnemba Island can accommodate a maximum of 2 children under 12 years of age on the island at any given time
- Single Supplement 2025:
- Between 11 January - 31 May and 01 November - 20 December, a single supplement of 50% is only charged from the third single room per booking
- Between 01 June - 31 October and 21 December - 10 January 2026, a single supplement of 50% applies to all single rooms
- A single supplement will be charged when an adult is sharing with an infant
- Single Supplement 2026:
- Between 11 January - 31 May and 01 November - 20 December, a single supplement of 50% is only charged from the third single room per booking
- Between 01 June - 31 October and 21 December - 10 January 2027, a single supplement of 50% applies to all single rooms
- A single supplement will be charged when an adult is sharing with an infant
- Honeymoon Offer:
- One partner pays full rate and the other partner pays 50% of accommodation rate for the whole stay
- Excludes family suites, family rooms and villas
- Rate and honeymoon discount based on 1 - 3 night rate
- May not be combined with other offers or long stay rates
- Valid for travel within 6 months of date of marriage
- Minimum 2 night stay

- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles: Please be advised that the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) is not allowed in any of the conservation areas we manage, until such time as their impact on wildlife and anti-poaching initiatives can be assessed. reef health and related biodiversity, on-land tree nursery and re-vegetation initiative,
a successful breeding project for the rare Aders’ duiker,
the elimination of plastic water bottle use together with daily beach clean-ups,
and community-led health care and education programmes.
