Set beneath ancient ebony and matumi trees on the banks of the Sand River, the camp looks out over one of the reserve’s most active wilderness corridors. With just ten thatched chalets, the experience feels personal and unhurried. Each chalet offers river views, a sitting area, a generous bed, an ensuite bathroom and air conditioning, with natural tones, recycled elements and handmade details bringing a gentle bohemian character to the interiors.
An elevated wooden walkway connects the guest areas to a game-viewing deck, swimming pool and dining deck. Meals are served in a variety of settings, from the boma beneath the stars to picnics and quiet bush locations, with Pan-African dishes shaped by the region’s flavours and rhythms.
Days unfold between twice-daily game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles and slower moments in camp. Guided nature walks, birdwatching, stargazing and Shangaan cultural excursions offer quieter ways to understand the landscape, while time beside the river invites the simple pleasure of watching the wild come and go.
