Set along the elevated banks of the Great Fish River, this nine-suite lodge is designed to maximise privacy and far-reaching views across the valley below. Each suite stands apart, generously spaced to create a strong sense of retreat, with the landscape always present and unhurried.
Thatched terraces extend from every suite, each with its own private plunge pool positioned to capture the sweep of the river valley. Full-height glass doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, while spacious en suite bathrooms feature freestanding baths, indoor showers and outdoor showers open to the sky. At 63 m² (678 square feet) per suite, the scale allows for comfort without excess.
The main lodge sits at the heart of the property, bringing guests together over locally inspired cuisine and shared stories of the day’s sightings. Warm, relaxed and understated in style, the atmosphere balances solitude with connection. Days begin with early light over the river, continue with immersive game drives across 30,000 hectares (74,131 acres) of private reserve, and return to quiet afternoons spent watching kudu move through the valley from your deck.
Great Fish River Lodge embodies a safari that is both expansive and deeply personal – where elevation sharpens the view, and distance enhances the experience.
