Segera Retreat lies on the grasslands of the Laikipia Plateau. Six beautifully appointed villas, created from timber and thatch, are raised above a profusion of botanical life, with spectacular views onto Mount Kenya. Each villa is unique, providing complete privacy and exclusivity for the guest. The gracious Segera House and Villa Segera boast even greater privacy and luxury. The main area comprises the Paddock House, Wine Tower and renovated stables, complete with bar and dining room filled with art. The essence of Segera is as a retreat to relax and indulge either before or after you go on your safari. Wildlife is almost a secondary part of the experience. The retreat, owned by Jochen Zeitz is very much inspired by a focus on contemporary art and ideas. Use this as a base to explore the Northern Frontier by Helicopter or simply to relax, recover from jetlag or enjoy your last moments of your holiday before returning home, fully refreshed.
Dining is an experience in itself, created by talented local chefs who deliver culinary magic using organic, locally grown and free range produce. Each meal is served in a different part of the retreat.
Guests at Segera can pick from a long list of entertainment, from classic safari game drives to enriching community visits, guided game walks and indulgent spa treatments. For the adventurous, this is ideal for helicopter safari’s or a sleep-out experience in their Nay Palad Birds Nest – well worth the additional cost.
