&Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve shares an unfenced boundary with the world-renowned Kruger National Park, South Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary and one of the biggest game reserves in the world. The park is located in the northeast of South Africa, in the eastern parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces.
Getting to Ngala Private Game Reserve:
Beneath the canopy and close to the Kruger National Park’s untamed edge, this intimate camp feels both hidden and open to the elements. Here, in the unfenced private concession of &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve, Ngala Tented Camp invites a safari shaped by instinct, expertise, and the pure thrill of discovery. Game drives unfold without rush or routine. Just presence, attention, and the natural pull of the bush.
With just nine tented suites raised among the trees, the camp settles into its surroundings: secluded, soulful, and as much a part of the wild as the branches above. Morning birdsong brings peaceful harmony. Evening lanterns glow like fireflies. And elephants pass unannounced. Designed for those who value quiet connection over constant activity, this is a space shaped for mindful connection. Outdoor bathtubs and generous decks bring the wild close, while interiors reflect the textures and spirit of local Shangaan design. Every moment draws you deeper into nature and gently, back to yourself.

The Ngala Treehouse is a wilderness sleepout like no other: a 4-level, open-air retreat in the sky, wrapped in stars and silence.
&Beyond’s acclaimed conservation policies led to Ngala becoming the first private reserve
to be incorporated into the world-famous Kruger National Park. Through a unique partnership
with WWF SA and the SANParks Trust, Ngala’s contributions directly influence
the expansion of various high biodiversity regions through the country, and assist SANParks
daily in their conservation and anti-poaching initiatives. Along with Wild Impact,
Ngala works closely with the neighbouring communities of Welverdiend, Hluvukani and Hlabekisa,
employing locally and investing in community education, healthcare and small business development.
Sustainability practices are a daily priority at Ngala and include the elimination of
plastic bottles and a focus on energy-saving initiatives.
