February is the ideal time to ascend the awe-inspiring Villarrica Volcano with your loved one. Measuring an impressive 2847 m (9341 ft), the volcano features a perfect cone shape with an open lava pool crater at the top. From the summit, enjoy the spectacular view together showcasing a textured landscape of mountains, volcanoes and countless lakes. Mountain boots, walking poles, ice axe, crampons, helmet and trekking backpack will be provided.
Water activities for adventurous couples
For the thrill-seeking couple, March offers the perfect conditions to embark on a range of water activities. Hang on tight as you and your partner race over exhilarating white-water rapids. Ideal for beginners and experienced paddlers, the Trancura River features Class 3 and 4 rapids. For a slightly slower pace, choose between a kayak or canoe, for a romantic paddle around the lake. Surrounded by mountains and beautiful forest, reach the opposite shore and walk along a trail to cascading waterfalls.
Horseback the outback together
Head out on horseback in April. After a short, scenic 4×4 drive from &Beyond Vira Vira, you and your significant other will arrive at Huepil Malal, a horse-riding centre bordering the Cani Natural Reserve. Here, you will meet an authentic Chilean huaso (cowboy). His horses are typical Chilean breeds with names like Merken, Calafate or Canela. Together, you will be guided on a scenic tour through open prairies and forests. Perfect for beginner to advanced honeymooners.
Dinner for two in the local community
Step into another culture with a fascinating visit to dona Rosario’s ruka (house) in the local Mapuche community. Embracing traditional ways, you and your loved can watch dona Rosario roasting organic wheat, the way it has been prepared for centuries, and enjoy her delicious home cooked fare specially made for newlyweds, before playing a game of Palin (a traditional Mapuche stick and ball game). Afterwards, meet Sandra Rojos in her factory working her loom.

There’s a multitude of adventures to enjoy with your one-and-only in the Lake District during winter. Once you are back at the lodge, visit our cheese factory (queseria) for not-your-usual honeymoon experience. Local cheese maker, Marisol Martinez, is renowned for her wholesome, authentic and flavourful cheeses.

November is ideal for couples who love to bird or fish. For avid birders; you and your partner will be introduced to a series of exciting excursions that visit different habitats searching high and low for iconic species. For fishing fanatics, catch-and-release fly-fishing or spinner fishing is available (all equipment is provided). Cast your line for rainbow trout, brown trout, or Chinook salmon or choose to go out in a boat to explore a wider expanse.

Celebrate your love on a scenic river excursion in December. Hop aboard a floating raft and glide along clear waters toward Villarrica Lake gazing lovingly into your person’s eyes. This tranquil adventure allows you to observe water birds and even trout and salmon darting through the river below.
