Each March, Mendoza bursts into celebration as it honours the heartbeat of its wine country: the grape harvest. The Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia is one of the world’s most celebrated harvest festivals, deeply rooted in Argentine tradition. It invites guests to experience the rhythm, colour and culture of the region in its most festive season.
While events span several weeks from late February, the celebration culminates in early March with three unforgettable spectacles:
- Vía Blanca de las Reinas: A luminous night-time parade of elaborately decorated floats, each carrying provincial harvest queens through Mendoza’s streets in a swirl of light and tradition.
- Carrusel Vendimial: A daytime procession where gauchos, folkloric dancers, musicians and harvest workers fill the avenues with vibrant energy and cultural pride.
- Acto Central: The grand finale, staged at the Frank Romero Day Greek Theatre. Over 1,000 performers bring the story of the harvest to life in a spectacular theatrical production, ending with the crowning of the National Vendimia Queen, a moment of both celebration and symbolic reverence.
