A trip up Table Mountain is an absolute must-do with the kids when in Cape Town. One of the most iconic natural sights in the world, hop in a cable car and slowly make your way up this awesome landmark. As you ascend, the kids will love the magnificent views of the crashing ocean and the dazzling city from your glass bubble. As if that is not an experience in itself, there are an abundance of exciting things to do when you have reached the top. First and foremost, will be the choice of flavour of a delicious ice cream and the fascination with the ever so cute and incredibly curious dassies, little furry animals that live amongst rocky outcrops.
You can teach the kids geography with the various displays on the hemisphere, times, and seasons, and they can enjoy looking into the distance through the viewfinders. Along with climbing rocks, looking for rare frogs and tortoises, spotting eland and foxes, eating more ice cream, and appreciating the colourful flora, the kids will simply have a great time in the natural beauty. It gets a bit chilly at the top so make sure warm jackets are taken.
If hiking is your thing, there are a wide variety of trails, from easy to difficult climbs that the family will love!
