Suyian Conservancy lies in the northwest of Laikipia, Kenya. This unfenced wildlife haven spans 17,806 hectares (44,000 acres) of conservation land and forms part of a vital movement corridor linking Laikipia to northern conservancies. It is home to more than 100 mammal species, including African wild dog, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and over 260 bird species.
Getting there
- By air: Safarilink and Air Kenya offer scheduled light aircraft flights twice daily from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Loisaba Airstrip. From there, it is a one-hour vehicle transfer to the conservancy. Private charters can also land directly at &Beyond Suyian Lodge’s airstrip.
- By road: Laikipia can be reached by 4×4 from Nairobi in approximately five hours, or from Nanyuki in about 90 minutes, depending on traffic.
