Day 1 | Arrival
Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by an &Beyond representative and transferred to your hotel.
Kigali is a vibrant city of rolling hills, rich history, and quiet confidence. Clean, safe, and strikingly green, it offers an ideal introduction to Rwanda, where tradition and transformation live side by side. Spend the afternoon exploring the capital’s thriving markets, art galleries, and cafés, or simply settle in and take in the view.
Day 2 to 4
Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, begin your journey north as you’re driven through Rwanda’s undulating countryside to Volcanoes National Park (approximately 3.5 hours). For the next three days, step into one of Africa’s most soul-stirring landscapes. Home to misty forests, volcanic peaks, and the world’s largest population of wild mountain gorillas, this is where wildlife encounters take on a deeper meaning.
Mountain gorilla trekking: Trek into the forest to seek out one of the park’s habituated gorilla families. The hike can be demanding, with steep slopes and tangled vegetation, but the reward is profound. To sit quietly as a silverback watches over his family or witness a young gorilla tumbling through the undergrowth is an experience that reshapes perspective.
Golden monkey trekking: When not tracking gorillas, spend a morning in search of golden monkeys leaping through the bamboo. Their playful energy and vibrant rust-coloured coats offer a vivid contrast to the calm strength of the gorillas.

Day 5 | Departure
Kigali
