Elephants love to swim and it’s always a delight to watch them in water. One can imagine that with such thick skins, the hot African sun must be brutal and a refreshing dip is just the thing. Also, to feel weightless in deeper water must be a welcome relief after hauling those heavy bodies around. Bulls, in particular, frolic with one another in the water, tussling and mounting each other in light-hearted dominance matches. The trunk makes a great snorkel for swimming under water too!
