A blur of stripes and horns
By early November, the migratory herds have usually made it well past the Mara River into the Central Serengeti. But my guide and I decided to take a chance and make the three-hour drive from Klein’s to the Lamai Triangle in hopes of witnessing a very late crossing on November 9. We were lucky to be in the right place at the right time and witnessed an extraordinary, intimate crossing with only a few other vehicles in sight.
