Remota was designed by Germán del Sol, one of Chile’s most famous architects, but best known for his work at the Explora property in Patagonia. Indeed Remota is very much in that mold of hotel, although without the privileged National Park location. Amid this ode to nature, the blackened wood-and-felt exteriors attempt to echo the basalt strata of the Torres del Paine massif.
Patagonia is vast, diverse and amazing and Remota is at the crossroad of all its main attractions; from Torres del Paine National Park, to its fjords and glaciers, Patagonian steppe, rivers, native forests and cattle ranches; but also to its inhabitants and its culture. To live and feel Patagonia is Remota’s mission, a hotel that does not measure itself by the number of stars or by urban frills. Luxury is the environment, our philosophy, and the award winning sustainable architecture of the property as well as the personalised customer service we provide in all our services, tours and excursions. Remota is also a member of the prestigious Virtuoso, the network of the world’s finest in luxury travel (only 5 members in Chile).
What we love about Remota Lodge
- The cuisine, a daily set menu, is simple but tasty, with all meals served in the dining room, accompanied by excellent Chilean wines
- In terms of the best room to book, the square footage is standard, so it boils down to a choice of views: either Last Hope Sound or the distant peaks of the Paine range.
- The impressive spa includes two ten-person saunas and an infinity pool that reflects Patagonia’s constantly changing skies.
