Previously known as Moksha Mustang Lodge, Shinta Mani Mustang, a Bensley Collection officially reopened its door in August 2023. Uniquely located in Jomsom at an elevation of 2,800 m (9,186 ft) in the Lower Mustang area, the gateway to Upper Mustang, the lodge has since undergone a complete transformation with luxury 5 Star Shinta Mani Brand and internationally acclaimed hotel designer, Bill Bensley at the helm.
Rich in culture, history and geological wonders, Mustang is an extraordinarily scenic district of Nepal, known as the ‘forbidden kingdom’ due to its inaccessibility for many years. Set in this magical destination, with its dramatic landscapes hidden in the Kali Gandaki valley between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, the lodge offers a fully inclusive experience and is the ideal base for adventure-seeking travellers keen to explore the surrounding region.
Primarily built with local stone and wood, the lodge’s 29 suites blend seamlessly into the mountainside. Designed in the style of a traditional Tibetan home, each suite features an open-plan bedroom combined with a living area and ensuite bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows boast staggering views of the Nilgiri mountain range. The aesthetic of the lodge draws inspiration from Tibetan art, incorporating rich textiles and local materials with occasional flashes of bold colour. Decadent blankets, handmade rugs and stylish wooden furnishings complete the space, creating a timeless mountain retreat that blends comfort with opulence.
Led by experienced guides, guests are encouraged to discover the area through a series of unique adventures, including hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, cycling and archery.
