Nehimba Lodge is set on the edge of a large waterhole and consists of seven thatched chalets raised on stilts, all with great views over the waterhole. Along with comfortable twin or double beds, a fan, tea-making facilities, a Nespresso machine and an electronic safe, each chalet also boasts an ensuite bathroom with an elegant high-backed bath, as well as the exhilarating experience of an outdoor shower.
Just a few steps away from the chalets, a sundeck and sparkling swimming pool provide welcome relief in the hotter summer months. The main lodge area is an L-shaped open fronted building encompassing a bar, and a choice of different lounge areas from which to enjoy the scenery. Delicious meals are served around a large table in the main communal area. Guests at Nehimba can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives (as well as drive after dark using a filtered spotlight) in open 4 wheel drive safari vehicles and the opportunity to get up close to nature with walking safaris.
What we love about Nehimba Lodge
- The dry season attracts many elephants right into camp to drink from both the waterhole and the swimming pool!
- Enjoy a walking safari and approach wildlife on foot while learning basic tracking skills.
- Visit local attractions such as Nehimba’s Hide, the Nehimba Seep, Mandavu Dam and the Mtoa Ruins.
