Sanctuary Swala Camp sits in a secluded corner of southern Tanzania’s Tarangire ecosystem, surrounded by open plains, acacia woodland and some of the region’s most iconic baobab trees. The setting feels remote and peaceful, with wildlife moving freely through the landscape around camp.
The 12 canvas pavilions are designed for privacy and connection to nature, each raised on a wooden platform with a private veranda overlooking the bush. Interiors are elegant yet understated, with natural textures, spacious bathrooms and thoughtful touches that keep the focus on the surrounding wilderness.
The main guest areas are built around a dramatic baobab tree, with open-air dining, a lounge, library, wine cellar and swimming pool offering places to relax between activities. Days unfold through game drives, walking safaris and visits to nearby communities, with evenings spent around the fire, beneath a canopy of stars and the silhouettes of ancient trees.
