Okonjima Plains Camp sits within the Okonjima Reserve, surrounded by open bushveld and distant mountain views. Its design nods to the area’s 1920s cattle-farming history, with the main guest area affectionately known as “The Barn.”
The 14 rooms, including four family rooms, are comfortable and easy-going, each with a private veranda, personal bar, fans and en suite bathroom. A private waterhole lies close to the rooms, bringing wildlife into view between activities.
The main area includes a dining space, sitting room, boutique store and swimming pool. Days are shaped by large carnivore-tracking walks, game drives, birdwatching, a self-guided nature trail and the Bushmen Trail, with the AfriCat Foundation adding important conservation context to the stay.
