The delightful Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp is situated in the pristine wilderness area between Windhoek and Etosha National Park. Guests can take their pick from African-themed cottages with earthy ochre walls, glass windows and khaki-green canvas, each set beneath a thatched roof and boasting a sumptuous bedroom, lounge area, an indoor and outdoor dining area with a wood-burning fireplace.
There is a large swimming pool overlooking the bush and the mountains and flanked by a ‘camelthorn’ shaped Lapa, incorporating the reception area and the curio shop, a comfortable lounge with four indoor fireplaces, an outside fireplace and a dining area. Delicious meals are prepared by a personal chef in the private kitchen. Situated on the edge of a wilderness area, guests can expect truly exhilarating wildlife encounters. Okonjima is also the home of the AfriCat Foundation, an organization committed to the conservation of Namibia’s large carnivores. Adventures include cheetah tracking on foot, leopard tracking, birdwatching and the opportunity to embark on the Bushman Trail, during which guests can experience a day in the life of a San Bushman.
