Damaraland Camp rests in one of Namibia’s most elemental landscapes. Set within the Huab River valley, it looks out across desert plains, ancient rock and the distant rise of the Brandberg Mountains. The feeling is open, quiet and deeply grounded in place.
The camp’s ten adobe-style thatch units are raised on individual wooden decks, with private viewing platforms that draw the eye outward. Inside, each tent is simple and comfortable, with an en suite shower, walk-in dressing area and built-in fan. Nothing feels excessive. Everything is shaped around the view.
At the heart of the camp, a spacious thatch guest area brings together the restaurant, bar, fireplace and swimming pool. Days unfold on guided nature drives, walks and mountain biking expeditions, with the chance to encounter desert-adapted elephant moving through this arid, remarkable terrain. Evenings are slower, gathered around firelight beneath some of Namibia’s clearest skies.
