Duba Plains Camp is built on an island cloaked and shaded by large ebony, fig and garcinia trees, and surrounded by expansive, breathtaking plains. Large tented suites boast soft lace draped beds, ensuite bathrooms with el fresco showers, flush toilets and verandas that overlook the vivid floodplain.
Guest areas feature an inviting outdoor sitting area with a centered fireplace, a raised deck dining room under large riverine trees, where freshly-prepared and delicious meals are served, and a swimming pool that offers a cooling respite from the famed African sun. The camps adventurous include thrilling game drives, and languid boating excursions. Night drives create a mystical ambience, with the glimmering eyes of nocturnal wildlife dotting sable plains. Lechwe, buffalo, elephant, tsessebe and warthog graze across the savannah, whilst hippo and hyena are found in the deeper channels of the delta.
What we love about Duba Plains Camp
- Be sure to watch the National Geographic documentary, Relentless Enemies, before you arrive. The classic lion and buffalo footage was filmed at Duba.
- Pour yourself a glass of wine, sit in the shade of your private veranda, and listen to the brilliant birdlife that surrounds you.
- Sundowners imbibed around a cosy bush campfire, strewn with harem pillows and cushions, illuminated by the gold sky.
