Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is perched on a private island encircled by the deepest stretches of the Okavango Delta. Each of the lodge’s 12 airy and spacious, deluxe tented rooms has its own plunge pool, a large outdoor deck overlooking the expansive delta, deep day beds, and personal bars. Tented rooms feature a walled outdoor shower with a window looking onto the delta, a large indoor bathtub and walk-in wardrobe.
Guest areas feature a restaurant that offers inside and outside dining, a bar and lounge area, and quaint library. At the heart of the restaurant is an open kitchen boasting a wood-burning pizza oven. A lodge fire area set on its own island is connected to the main lodge by a flowing walkway.
Adventures on offer include game viewing by mekoro (traditional dugout canoe), excursions in small motorboats, barge cruises and thrilling helicopter flights.
What we love about Belmond Eagle Island Lodge
- Sip on delicious sundowners at The Fish Eagle Bar located directly on the edge of the water channels.
- Ask your hosts to organise a private dining experience on the deck of your tent in clear view of the sun disappearing into the wide horizon of the Okavango.
- Ask the lodge about their private helicopter excursion to Fallen Fig Island — definitely not-to-be-missed!
