Situated in the game rich Khwai region of the spectacular Okavango Delta, Machaba Camp reflects the classic safari style of the 1950s. Serene and secluded, pathways to the ten luxury tents meander between large trees set in the riverine thicket. Spacious and elegant, the tents boast ensuite bathrooms and living areas, as well as romantic indoor and outdoor showers.
Sun loungers are situated around a sparkling swimming pool with riverside views, while a tented main area contains a library filled with reading material. Guests can explore the magnificent environment on game drives, walking safaris and mokoros, traditional dugout canoe, or alternatively experience authentic African culture with a visit to the local community.
What we love about Camp Machaba
- The camp is named after the local Setswana word for the sycamore fig. Ask your ranger to tell you more about this exceptional tree plant, also known as the tree of life.
- Indulge in some afternoon game viewing from the privacy of your tent and watch the elephants come down to drink at the Khwai River.
- Revel in sundowners as the African sun dips below the horizon igniting fiery streaks across the vast sky.
