Working for &Beyond as a Travel Specialist gives me the opportunity to combine my two greatest passions: travel and conservation. Every day, I get to share those passions with my guests. I’ve always been mad about the bush. I grew up in Mpumalanga, home to a fair chunk of the Kruger National Park, a place I consider my spiritual home. Travelling to areas of breath-taking natural beauty, getting up close and personal with God’s creatures great and small, knowing that I am making a difference to conservation, and building relationships with guests from all over the world, makes what I do worth it.
Countries visited
I have travelled to South Africa, Namibia, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Botswana.
A few things I love travelling with
I never leave home without binoculars, my bird book, and my sense of humour!
Favourite destinations
My heart belongs to South Africa – home to some of Africa’s best Big 5 game viewing in arguably the finest game reserves – the magnificent Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand, Phinda, Kwandwe, and Madikwe to name a few. Breath-taking Cape Town deserves its status as one of the world’s top ten cities to visit and Jozi is a big-hearted, high-energy, must-visit destination that is the soul of the country. Throw in the best beaches, insane natural beauty and some of the oldest vineyards producing world-class wines and the warmest and most welcoming people – what’s not to love?
I love Botswana – this is true Africa, a pristine and unspoilt wilderness that offers a diversity of authentic wildlife experiences from meandering on a mekoro in the Okavango Delta to game-viewing by boat on the mighty Chobe River; or being thoroughly entertained by meerkats in the Makgadikgadi to experiencing ancient Bushman traditions in the Kalahari Desert.
