Growing up on a smallholding outside of Johannesburg, I was fortunate enough to immerse myself in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. After finishing school, I studied Hotel Management at the Hotel School of South Africa. My dream was always to work within the hospitality industry due to my love for food, wine and the allure of one day enjoying olives and French champagne in France. After graduating, I decided to take a “gap year” to see the world. I spent a year on a working holiday travelling to Israel, Greece, Italy, Germany, Spain and ending in Portugal. I personally feel that this is where I realised that the world is my oyster and that I should always do something I love.
Countries visited
I have travelled extensively to Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Maldives, Seychelles, Comoros and Mauritius.
A few things I love travelling with
I love travelling with my family, Thierry Mugler Angel perfume, sunglasses and a credit card.
Favourite destinations
Namibia is my absolute favourite destination due to the diversity of the country, the calming effect of Sossusvlei and the amazing seafood in Swakopmund. Other highlights include the ocean and island experience of Mozambique and Mnemba Island, the smell of the bushveld in the South African Game Reserves, Victoria Falls, cruises on the Zambezi River and the Cape Winelands – absolutely breath-taking in every way.
