Once bitten by the Africa Travel bug one needs a regular fix. I first visited what is now &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge in 1994 and in September 2012 joined &Beyond as a Travel Specialist. Planning holidays and sharing my years of African experiences is a dream come true and I want to share my love for Africa’s wildlife, dramatic landscapes and, most of all its people, with every one of my guests.
Countries visited
I have travelled to Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa, Gambia, Seychelles, Mauritius, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, UAE, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Hong Kong, Argentina, Antarctica, Falklands and South Georgia.
A few things I love travelling with
Five things that remain a must when travelling: a kikoi, a good book, sense of humour, lipstick and tea tree oil, which I believe is the cure to everything.
Favourite destinations
Tanzania, specifically the Serengeti. Nothing prepares you for the endless plains, glorious vistas and the magnitude of the Great Migration – a spectacle to behold. Another highlight is the Lower Zambezi Valley, the beauty of the escarpment and the mighty Zambezi River, with the wooded floodplains, is one of the most beautiful places in Africa. The variety of activities: walking, boating canoeing game drives and fishing, make this a very special place. Botswana is another dream destination with the spectacular Okavango Delta, a landscape of deep channels, shallow lagoons, islands dotted with palms and incredible game viewing in such a pristine environment is a privilege to experience.
