A travel advisor for nearly 40 years, Marita loves to enrich her clients’ lives by arranging trips to places that have aroused her passion.
“It was love from the first moment I stepped on African soil in the early 1990s,” recalls Marita. “I remember – as yesterday – the game drive in Kruger Park where the lions were having breakfast.” As a child, Marita dreamt about Namibian dunes. When her dream finally came true she climbed Dune 45 and rolled down with sand in eyes and ears.
Perhaps her ultimate life-changing experience was a camping tour with &Beyond through Botswana. “I will never forget the nights under the African sky, the stars so bright and low that you feel you can touch them. I have NEVER seen as many lions and leopards.” Another tented experience brilliant in her memory was in Serengeti – sitting around the campfire with the staff singing songs in Swahili and roars of lions cutting the silence. Mozambique’s Bazaruto archipelago is another dream destination.
Recently Marita discovered an equal passion – South America. “Crossing the Patagonian Lakes was breath-taking with emerald-green Lake Frías, waterfalls, volcanos & snow-topped Andes.”
