Few people know the Himalayan kingdoms as intimately as Binaya. Born and raised in Nepal, Binaya has spent more than two decades guiding travellers through the winding mountain passes, sacred valleys, and storied cities of Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and India. His rare blend of academic expertise and human warmth transforms every journey into a deeper conversation with the landscape.
A scholar of Tibetan Buddhism with a Master’s degree from Tribhuvan University, Binaya also holds advanced qualifications in Anthropology and Cultural Studies. His teaching career has taken him from the University of Connecticut to the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management, where he has shaped the next generation of guides with his deep knowledge of religion, culture, and Himalayan history.
Equally at home navigating the quiet courtyards of Lhasa’s monasteries or introducing guests to Kathmandu’s vibrant artisan traditions, Binaya bridges worlds. He is fluent in English and Nepali, with working knowledge of French, Hindi, Tibetan, and Sanskrit, and is a skilled translator, editor, and storyteller. Guests quickly sense his care, intuition, and curiosity — qualities that make him not just a guide, but a companion on a shared path of discovery.
