Access to the lodge:
Private lodge airstrip: A 1hr 15min fixed-wing or a 1hr 30min helicopter flight from Windhoek to our private airstrip, followed by a short 10min road transfer to the lodge.
Self-drive: It is advisable to use a 4×4 vehicle during the rainy season (from November to May).
The lodge is a 400 km (248 mi) drive from Windhoek and a 380 km (236 mi) drive from Swakopmund on good quality gravel roads.

Ten beautifully appointed stone and glass Suites, spread out along the curve of the escarpment, open onto ever-changing outlooks. The two-bedroom Star Dune Suite is an ideal option for families or groups of friends.

Walk across ancient sands and hike ‘Big Dune’s’ winding tailbone of a crest all the way which has been sculpted by prevailing winds. As you reach the top without another soul in sight, look out over Sossusvlei’s sensational views. Tuck into a delicious picnic breakfast to celebrate.
Sossusvlei Private Desert Reserve borders one of the world’s few official Dark Sky Reserves, boasting some of the clearest night skies on Earth. When available, guests are invited to join the visiting astronomer at the lodge’s observatory. Subject to availability of the observatory and visiting astronomer.
