What is the Sustainable Development Fee?
The Sustainable Development Fee is a compulsory levy by the Royal Government of Bhutan to all tourists visiting the country. Levied to promote sustainable and responsible tourism, the SDF contributes to Bhutan’s social welfare, developmental activities, conservation of the environment, promotion of culture, as well as enhancement of infrastructure and facilities for tourists.
This concessionary levy is normally USD 100 per person per day (USD 50 for children 6-12 years)
What do I need to know about travelling to Bhutan?

- A credit of USD 100 per adult per night towards the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF).
- For Indian passport holders, a credit of BTN 1,200 per adult per night will apply.

- Normal &Beyond exclusions apply
- Any airport taxes and surcharges
- All international, regional or inter-camp flights
