Embark on a hot air balloon flight across the Atacama Desert
Suspended in the air, soaring approximately 700 m (2,297 ft) above the ground, explore one of the world’s driest and most iconic landscapes, the Atacama Desert. The Atacama Desert is a cool, arid desert plateau covering approximately 1,600 km (995 mi) of desolate land along the Pacific coast, west of the Andes Mountains. Comprising an unmissable scene of salt flats and saline lakes, high-altitude geysers, softly smoking volcanoes, and lunar rock formations, this other-worldly destination seeks to inspire all who dare to traverse its ethereal lands.
From your unique vantage point, witness the desert from a different perspective, one very few can say they have had the pleasure of experiencing. Typically taking off at dawn (between 05h00 and 08h00, depending the time of year), enjoy a short flight safety briefing and warm beverage before taking to the skies for a magical 45-minute to an hour and a half balloon flight (depending on the weather conditions). With a maximum capacity of six passengers per basket, expect an intimate and tailored experience designed to pique your interests.
Navigated by experienced pilots, using the wind as their guide, lose yourself in the myriad colours and shapes of the Atacama Desert, a vast expanse of dramatic red-orange canyons and rugged peaks. Towards the end of your balloon adventure, toast to your incredible experience, enjoying a few local delicacies.
Each ballooning adventure is approximately three to four hours.
