Spend a few days in a life’s work.
Spend a few days in a life’s work.
What might you begin to notice in the company of someone who has spent years looking closely? To find out, we have invited a select group of historians, naturalists, conservationists, filmmakers, researchers and field specialists to share the places and stories that continue to fascinate them. Each brings an understanding shaped by decades of curiosity and experience. Around their knowledge, we have created a collection of limited-edition Small Group Journeys through rare wildlife habitats, living cultural landscapes and histories written into rivers, forests and mountains.
Several journeys celebrate landmark natural history productions by returning to the landscapes, wildlife and communities behind the stories seen on screen, accompanied by hosts who helped bring them to life. Others invite guests into decades of wildlife research, conservation work and historical scholarship. Each itinerary transforms a host’s particular field of expertise into a journey that could not be experienced in quite the same way with anyone else. Your host remains with the group throughout, leading and interpreting excursions alongside local guides and specialist teams. Daily reflections, briefings, shared meals and conversations along the way create time to ask questions, follow unexpected threads and see each place through the perspective of someone who has devoted years to understanding it.
These journeys offer time inside a life’s work: a chance to recognise the signs others pass by, hear the stories that connect one place to another and begin seeing Asia through more through more informed eyes.
Each limited-edition journey is hosted and characterised by someone with a lifetime of knowledge to share. Meet the experts who will travel alongside you, revealing the stories, connections and details that only decades of experience can cultivate.
These limited-edition journeys draw on landmark natural history productions and decades of field research, conservation and historical enquiry. Each is led throughout by an expert who takes you deeper into the places and stories that have shaped their life’s work.

Hosted by Harsha Jayaramaiah
Follow a wildlife story across Nepal, from Kathmandu’s cultural landmarks to the cloud forests of the eastern Himalaya and the jungles of Bardia National Park.
Track endangered red pandas through bamboo-rich forest with experienced local naturalists, then search for tigers and other wildlife on jeep safaris, boat trips and guided walks in Bardia. The route has been shaped around Harsha’s field experience, creating a journey through two very different habitats and the conservation stories connecting them.
Harsha remains with the group throughout, leading and interpreting the journey alongside local naturalists, trackers and the expedition team. Through daily reflections, selected shared meals and ongoing conversation, he helps you read each landscape through the tracks, calls and subtle signs that reveal the animals living within it. Hosted by Dr Raghu Chundawat
Enter the high-altitude valleys of Ladakh in search of one of the world’s most elusive cats.
After acclimatising in Leh, travel into the Rumbak Valley for five full days of snow leopard tracking. The expedition has been shaped around Dr Raghu’s pioneering research into the species and its prey, creating an opportunity to explore the same mountain relationships that have occupied decades of his scientific work.
Raghu remains with the group throughout, leading and interpreting the search alongside local spotters and experienced mountain teams. Study ridgelines, valleys and animal signs while learning how snow leopards, their prey and local communities share this demanding landscape. Daily reflections, selected shared meals and sustained conversation allow observations and questions to develop across the expedition. The search unfolds slowly, rewarding patience not only with the possibility of a sighting, but with a deeper understanding of the entire mountain ecosystem.

These limited-edition journeys draw on decades of relationships, field knowledge and shared endeavour. Here are just a few elements that make these journeys unforgettable.
They represent knowledge gathered in the field, relationships built over time and the trust required to create journeys of genuine depth. They have made it possible to bring together remarkable people, difficult-to-replicate experiences and stories that cannot be understood from the surface alone.
More than a conventional guided experience, they allow questions to lead somewhere, conversations to continue beyond an excursion and knowledge to be shared in the moment it becomes relevant. Around the table, on the river or while waiting beside a distant ridgeline, guests become part of the exchange rather than simply its audience.
Experience two complementary chapters of the Ganges in two directions and from the same cabin. With Toby Sinclair, travel from Himalaya to Kolkata and follow the river from its sacred formation through Varanasi and the landscapes of Bihar.
And with Rudrangshu Mukherjee, cruise from Patna to Kolkata downstream through archaeological sites, historic capitals, craft centres and the layered histories of Bengal. Together, these trips reveal the changing character of the Ganges from Himalayan confluence to cultural metropolis.
Combined pricing is available on request.
Behind every visible encounter lies work the guest may never see: years of research, relationships built slowly, routes explored repeatedly and knowledge passed between scientists, guides, trackers and communities. These journeys bring that invisible work into view. They reveal not only what is here, but why it matters and what is required to protect it.
Throughout these journeys, guests encounter the researchers, trackers, naturalists, artisans and communities whose work keeps wildlife knowledge, cultural traditions and local histories alive. Their insight reveals why these places matter and why travelling through them thoughtfully matters too.
Join one of five limited-edition journeys and experience Asia through the knowledge of those who have devoted years to understanding it. More than two decades of relationships and experience across Asia have opened doors to stories, places and people that most travellers would never encounter.
