Dear Catherine,
Thank you for your email. We had the trip of a lifetime. Everything was wonderful, and I wouldn’t change a thing! Brooke fell ill from the malaria pills but recovered quickly once I took her off the meds. The staff at Grumeti were wonderful in helping me take care of her. Everyone was genuinely concerned for her well-being.
As a family, we travel the world to a lot of different places, and it’s very rare when we come upon experience or a place that we can’t wait to get back to. This trip is one of those experiences, and what made it so different was the people. We felt warmth and sincerity from every staff member. Saying goodbye, we felt as if we were leaving old friends.
I sent an email to Penny at Grumeti letting her know not to worry about shipping the little seal all the way to Switzerland. Thank you for offering, but fortunately, it’s easily replaced.
And yes, please send us the newsletter. We would like to do another trip very soon.
