This eloquent letter from guests Moi and Tanya had our hearts bursting with pride…
We strive to create unforgettable experiences for our guests. From the breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary wildlife to the luxurious accommodation and irresistibly abundant food (not to mention all the unexpected surprises in between), we want our guests to genuinely feel like part of the family. And if they continue to talk about their journey with &Beyond years from now, then we know we’ve done something right.
This eloquent letter from guests Moi and Tanya had our hearts bursting with pride. They stayed at the recently rebuilt &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp in Kenya’s Masai Mara. And despite the state-of-the-art luxury tents and rim-flow swimming pool that undoubtedly has one of the world’s best views, Moi and Tanya graciously admit that it was the Kichwa family that made their safari so special.
We hope their story will reconnect you with your own favourite &Beyond memories, and we’d love to hear about them too!
“&Beyond Kichwa Tembo. This was it for us. It really changed our lives for the better and is probably one of the fundamental reasons why we will book again with &Beyond and return to Africa.
The place is BEAUTIFUL beyond words, the lodge is a wonderful experience, the accommodation truly world-class, the setting something straight out of a painting. The food was unbelievable, the wine list even better! The adventures (game drives, ballooning, etc.) were mind-blowing. BUT … and this is what separates Kichwa from most other trips in my lifetime … the real asset (and I cannot stress this enough) is the PEOPLE.
The staff that took care of us are hands-down the best group of people that I have ever encountered in the industry … and I would know, I work for a hotel company with thousands of employees. To say that these people really CARE about the guests, their lodge, the commitment to their work, their HONEST appreciation for the area, the service, the experience and the people would only be the tip of the iceberg.
What I found in the hearts of the people that made our experience magically was a TRUE joy in exchanging and sharing their lives with guests like me and my wife. Every single day they went out of their way to do something WAY BEYOND what was expected … from private candlelit dinners to amazing bush breakfasts, to taking care of me while I was ill.
We had a goodbye dinner (which we never asked for) set up by the crew outside our tent, where literally over 15 people came to sing us goodbye. The experience was SO beautiful that my wife and I could not stop crying. It really hurt to leave behind such an amazing group of people. THANK YOU.”
