Minga Lodge and Reserve
Perched on the banks of the majestic Rio Napo, a tributary of the Amazon River, Minga Lodge and Reserve takes guests on a journey of adventure to discover the spectacular natural surroundings and culture of this fascinating region. Situated on over 283 hectares (700 acres) of rainforest, Minga Lodge offers its guests exclusive, immersive experiences that unite culture, community, conservation, and wellness.
Explore the reserve’s unique biodiversity, revitalise with a walk under the forest canopy, and nourish your body with delicious superfoods grown on-site. And at the end of the day, retreat to your own canopy sanctuary; modern, climate-controlled luxury cabins with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that frame the beauty of the tropical forest.
What’s more, all guests contribute to a conservation fee, which helps to fund Minga Lodge and Reserve’s broader conservation efforts in the region. This includes maintaining the primary rainforest, flora and fauna biodiversity conservation programs, as well as training local farmers on sustainable agricultural practices and local high school students on environmental conservation.
What we love about Minga Lodge
- Led by local guides, hike, walk and canoe under the rainforest canopy to spot fascinating mammals, reptiles and bird life. Half of the Napo area’s monkey species are found on the reserve
- Participate in activities that highlight community and culture including Kichwa cooking, jewellery making, and shaman blessing
- Enjoy farm-to-table dining lovingly called the ‘1-mile diet’, with many of the fruits and vegetables on the menu grown at the working farm across the river
- Partake in a coffee tasting of the Robusta ‘espresso’ bean and chocolate making in a professional test kitchen
