White Desert
White Desert seeks to provide guests with a more accessible way to truly experience the ‘real’ Antarctica—that being the untouched interior landscapes of the White Continent. Founded by genuine polar explorers, White Desert offers courageous adventurers the unique opportunity to explore this forbidding and rarely seen area in luxury.
A first-of-its-kind experience, staying at any one of White Desert’s Antarctica camps promises a carbon-neutral adventure that is as luxurious as it is thrilling. Uniquely located, each campsite has been skillfully designed to be easily dismantled and removed, leaving no trace on the pristine environment.
After landing on the ancient blue ice of Wolf Fang’s runway—the only exclusively operated private aircraft runway in Antarctica—you will be whisked away to your camp of choice: either Whichaway, an oasis of luxury overlooking freshwater lakes, or Echo, set in some of the most dramatic mountain ranges on Earth.
Whichaway
White Desert’s flagship camp, set on the shores of one of the freshwater lakes of the ice-free Schirmacher Oasis, features six heated ‘polar pods’. These pods boast cutting-edge exteriors and old-world interiors celebrating Antarctica’s rich heritage of exploration. Here, you are invited to sit back and relax, taking in your exquisite polar surroundings, either in your private pod or in the communal lounge, library, and dining area. Enjoy gourmet meals prepared by your private chef, experience a sauna with glacier views, sip cocktails by the fire, and cross off bucket list adventures like visiting the South Pole, ice climbing, hiking over ice waves, and coming face-to-face with 28,000 emperor penguins.
Echo
Inspired by the pivotal age of space exploration, Echo sits in quiet solitude encircled by pitted rock formations. Futuristic and luxurious, the camp’s six ‘Sky Pods,’ with their space-age design, are created from composite material and boast floor-to-ceiling windows. Ideal for small groups of up to 12 guests, Echo allows explorers to combine an ultra-luxury experience with a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
