Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp An intimate and traditional camp in a wildlife-rich area in the South Luangwa National Park

The spirit of Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp

Set high on an escarpment overlooking a wide floodplain, Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp is small and remote, unobtrusively built to blend into its natural surroundings. Just seven spacious and comfortable tents boast extensive viewing decks and lavish bathrooms with sunken baths and outdoor showers offering wraparound views of the plains below.

Delicious meals are served in the central dining area, which is carefully designed to maximise the feeling of being out in the bush. The camp’s large living area is ideal for relaxing between game drives or sharing stories of your day, often around a campfire in the evening. Activities include game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles, birdwatching and guided walks.

What we love about Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp

  • Spend the afternoon on the front deck, which overlooks the floodplain, and watch as game come up to feed and drink at the waterhole.
  • Ask the staff to let you know when they hear the distinctive whistling sound made by the puku antelope that the camp is named for.
