The spirit of King Lewanika Lodge
Set on the banks of the Munde stream, King Lewanika Lodge is scheduled to open in mid-2017. Just six luxury villas have been carefully designed to make the most of the sweeping vistas from this tranquil and secluded spot. Raised on wooden platforms, the lodges mimic the vast expanse of the Liuwa plains with an open and airy design. Modern and sleek, yet perfectly in tune with their setting, the villas will be open in the front to make the most of the spectacular views. Each villa will feature a comfortable lounge, a spacious bathroom with an outdoor shower and a wide terrace from which to marvel at the views.
Guests will be able to choose from day and night game drives, as well as guided walks. The rainy season, between December and March, will also bring opportunities for boating and canoeing.
What we love about King Lewanika Lodge
Watch truly unique animal behaviour unfold as hyenas hunt in clans of up to 50.
During the annual migration, enjoy the awe-inspiring sight of more than 47 000 wildebeest flooding the vast plain as far as the eye can see.
In April, guests may catch sight of the ancient Kuomboka ceremony, during which the Lozi king floats on a barge from his lowland residence to his highland residence, passing right through the park.
