The spirit of Belmond Khwai River Lodge
Khwai River Lodge is a renowned game lodge sprawled under a canopy of aged indigenous leadwood and fig trees. The air conditioned, twin-bedded, thatched tents offer guests handsome ensuite bathrooms, romantic mosquito net canopies and personal bars. Guests can take in the breathtaking views of the Khwai River floodplain from their private decks.
The lodge also provides guests with a thatched dining room, as well as a bar and sitting area with an open fireplace. There is a heated swimming pool and a secluded viewing platform, overlooking the river, for guests to birdwatch. Safaris include morning and evening game drives, both inside and outside of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, guided walks and bird watching, as well as a fascinating visit to Khwai Village.
What we love about Belmond Khwai River Lodge
- Ask your hosts about the ‘tracking safari’, which will take you along the Khwai River.
- Embark on a private, cultural excursion where you will meet one of the village elders for an intimate and insightful experience into Botswana’s vivid culture.
- Steal a few quiet moments on your private deck and watch as African jacanas daintily flit between the water lilies in front of you.
- Keep your binoculars and camera at hand, as elephants often frequent the camp to slake their thirst at the river in front of the lodge.
